Lesson 13 - Understanding Layers

The material presented in this lesson on layers depends on your haveing reviewed the previous lesson. Make sure you have completed Editing Lesson 12 before proceding with this one.

Most photo-editors offer the ability to create separate layers of content in an image.

In the last lesson, each time we moved an element into our new image, the editor created a new 'layer' to hold it.

The graphic to the right illustrates the concept.

As you can see in the illustration, the three images moved onto the blank canvas each reside on a separate layer.
